About Us

Before we begin “About Us” we would like to thank Dad and Mom for helping us get started with this endeavor. Without you both, none of this would be possible! Their support, knowledge, and willingness to help, along with Ralph Walsh, George Rill, and Bob Copenhaver, has shaped us into successful business owners.

A special thanks to Bob Copenhaver, a master electrician by trade, who is very knowledgeable in all facets of life. He took me under his wing, mentored, and helped me throughout my life journey. Words cannot express the gratitude I have towards this man.

Now back to “About Us” – Brad’s father, Paul Shaffer, started Hampstead Car Wash, INC in 1969 with 2 partners. After many successful years, the partners were ready to retire. Brad bought both shares of Hampstead Car Wash, INC in 2001 partnering with his father. Purchasing new equipment and updating existing equipment was and still is a priority.

Then in 2006, Brad, and his wife Kate, purchased Eldersburg Car Wash in Eldersburg, MD. A self-serve bay was converted into a 24 hour Automatic car wash along with other beneficial features such as Spot Free Rinse, Tire Shine, and Triple Foam Polish in the existing 85’ Express Conveyor Tunnel.

Later that same year, Brad and Kate, purchased the Laundromat that is located next door to Eldersburg Car Wash. New washers and dryers along with other improvements were made to the building.

A Dog Wash was added to the Eldersburg Car Wash property which offers your own privacy, an array of self-serve dog wash options, and vending supplies to ensure you and your pet has the best wash experience!

In 2013, Brad and Kate acquired a four bay self-serve car wash in Westminster, MD that offers an outside truck bay for those larger vehicles and trucks.

Then in 2015 the Hanover, PA location, which was formally known as Greenies Car Wash, was purchased. This location had been closed for almost a year prior to the purchase and re-opening. Additions were made to the self-serve bays, Automatic Car Washes, and the 120’ Express Conveyor Tunnel. We would like to add a special thanks to Bob Copenhaver, Gary Mick, and Keith Miller (who has since passed away) for all their hard work and dedication to the opening of All Shined Up Car Wash of Hanover, PA.
